How do I enter into command mode on Roving Networks Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules

Latest Update: February 1, 2012 09:56am

By default, roving Networks' modules (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) boot up in data mode.

In order to enter command mode, you must send the escape sequence $$$ together quickly with no additional characters before or after. You must not send a carriage return (\r) or line feed (\n) after the $$$ to enter command mode.

The module replies with CMD to indicate it is in command mode. There is a 250-ms buffer before and after the $$$ escape sequence. If characters are sent before or after the escape sequence within this 250-ms interval, the module treats them as data and passes them over the wireless data link, and the module will not enter command mode.

Once in command mode, all commands terminate with a carriage return (\r).
