DESCRIPTION
The RN-42-N is form, function, and pin compatible with the RN-42. The primary difference between the RN-42-N and the RN-42 is that it does not have an onboard antenna. This is useful when the application requires an external antenna. The RN-42-N is shorter in length and has RF pads to route the antenna signal.
The RN-42-N is perfect for short range, battery powered applications. It uses only 26 uA in sleep mode while still being discoverable and connectable. Multiple user-configurable power modes allow the user to dial in the lowest power profile for a given application.
The RN-42-N is the perfect product for engineers adding Bluetooth capability to their product without spending significant time and money developing Bluetooth specific hardware and software.
